(Ocala, FL) – The United States Dressage Federation TM (USDF) and its committees have selected the Florida Horse Park as the host for the 2020 Great American Insurance Group/USDF Region 3 Regional Dressage Championships, presented by SmartPak.
The bid for 2020 Region 3 Championships was headed by Noreen O’Sullivan and Frances Cross. Neither is a stranger to dressage: O’Sullivan is a managing partner of the Wellington Classic Dressage competition management company, and in 2017 she was awarded the Global Dressage Visionary Award for the role she has played in the sport. Frances Cross, a Level 2 FEI Dressage Steward and “R” Dressage Technical Delegate, owned King Oak Farm in Massachusetts. Throughout the years of 1983 to 2016, she ran recognized United States Eventing Association horse trials and USDF events and has bred many dressage horses.
The Championships will be held on Florida Horse Park’s world-class Martin Collins CLOPF® Fiber arenas that were built over the innovative Dammann Risohorse® ebb and flow irrigation system. This system self-regulates water levels so that the Florida Horse Park can provide exceptional footing during all different types of weather.
Regional Championships offer a great opportunity for local supporters to come out and watch the top horses and riders in their Region qualify for the US Dressage Finals presented by Adequan®. The 2020 location for the US Dressage Finals has yet to be determined. Competitors have qualified for the Great American/USDF Regional Championships by competing in qualified classes throughout the past year at USDF recognized dressage competitions.
